Assessment 6: Interpretation of Survey Results
$15.00Assessment 6 Instructions: Interpretation of Survey Results
Provide a 5-7 page summary paper that integrates your findings from Assessments 1-4. This paper will describe how the survey was conducted as well as the results of the survey.
Introduction
In this assessment, you will integrate your findings from Assessments 1–4 and describe how the survey was conducted. You will also reflect on the limitations of the survey and think about potential improvements for a future study.
Demonstration of Proficiency
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies through the following assessment scoring guide criteria.
- Competency 1: Interpret a data set’s central tendency and variability using descriptive statistical procedures.
- Interpret summary statistics for all survey questions.
- Competency 2: Evaluate the adequacy of data collection methods.
- Evaluate constraints or limitations of conclusions based on survey results.
- Competency 3: Derive logical conclusions for inferential statistical calculations.
- Derive logical conclusions for inferential statistical calculations.
- Competency 4: Solve problems in your personal and professional life by applying statistical procedures.
- Interpret statistical analysis of data to explain the meaning of the survey results.
- Explain the significance of survey results to research goals addressing an issue in one’s personal or professional life.
- Competency 5: Evaluate statistical arguments.
- Recommend future study to further examine an issue in one’s personal or professional life.
In Assessments 1–4, you have gone through all steps from proposing a survey to producing and evaluating the survey data. For this assessment, you will analyze and integrate your findings from the previous components in Assessments 1–4. Write your paper from the viewpoint that you are presenting the information to an audience that is interested in your results. Include graphical representations as well as an explanation of descriptive and inferential measures, relating these components to the context of your survey. Only make claims that the data you collected can support.
The goal of your analysis and interpretation is to take the data that was collected and turn it into useful and usable information. Look for lessons that you learned from your data collection and results. What did you learn about the participants? What surprised you? Did you expect any of the results? Are there issues that arose that you did not understand? These may require further, more in-depth research. Discuss any limitations of the study.
In your paper:
- Interpret and communicate your results to your target audience.
- Include a brief summary of your population, sampling techniques, and survey.
- Communicate results, interpretation, and analysis of all assessments, including graphs (circle, bar, histogram), measures of central tendency, measures of variation, confidence intervals, and hypothesis tests.
Your paper should contain both a summary of results and an interpretation and analysis of the results. Every survey question should be addressed in your interpretation. You will not be able to comment on every little finding, so you will have to make some judgments about what might be the most interesting or revealing results.

Assessment 5: Evaluating Studies
$10.00Assessment 5 Instructions: Evaluating Studies
Evaluate a statistical study.
Introduction
In this assessment, you will demonstrate your ability to critically evaluate surveys and their statistical findings. In the process, you will get to know important terms and methods that are used when conducting a survey and when presenting a report based on an evaluation of a survey and its statistical findings.
Demonstration of Proficiency
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies through the following assessment scoring guide criteria.
- Competency 2: Evaluate the adequacy of data collection methods.
- Assess the appropriateness of a sample to represent a population.
- Explain the rationale for using a particular sampling technique.
- Competency 5: Evaluate statistical arguments.
- Interpret the meaning of the confidence interval in the context of survey results.
- Evaluate the impact of question wording on participants’ responses.
- Evaluate a study for evidence of bias.
This assessment is somewhat independent of the other assessments so far, in the sense that it does not involve your own survey. Instead, you will produce a report based on an evaluation of a Gallup survey and its statistical findings. Gallup reports on a variety of polls with explanations of the survey methods. Categories of polls include politics, economy, well-being, health care law, taxes, federal budget, and many other subjects.
For Assessment 5, you need to select a survey from Gallup then analyze it. You will find links to the most recent topics on the Gallup home page. https://www.gallup.com/home.aspx You can search for surveys by keyword; alternatively, click on the news link at the bottom of the page and search by topic. Make sure the topic you select contains information about survey methods, particularly the sample size, sampling method, and margin of error.
To prepare for this assessment, go to the Gallup home page and do the following:
- Review a variety of polls on the site. https://www.gallup.com/home.aspx
- Choose a poll to report on that closely aligns to your field of study or area of professional interest.
- Review the information in the Survey Methods section of the article. This section details how the study was conducted. Also, study all information contained in additional links at the bottom of this section. You will use this information to complete your assessment.
Then, answer the following questions about the Gallup poll you selected:
- What was the purpose of the poll? Write a brief summary. Include the title and link to the article within your summary.
- What were the population and sample? Why is this sample appropriate for the population? What was the sample size? Was the sample size large enough to reflect the opinions of the population?
- Were the results parameters or statistics? Why?
- What type of sampling technique was used (for example, stratified, clustered, random, convenience, or systematic)? Why was this technique used? How were the subjects contacted? Was this method appropriate?
- What was the confidence interval and margin of error? Interpret what the confidence interval means as it relates to the context of the survey.
- What were the exact questions asked? Do you think the wording of the questions influenced the participants’ responses?
- Did you find any evidence of bias in the poll? If so, describe the source of the bias. If not, how was bias avoided?
- Competency 2: Evaluate the adequacy of data collection methods.

Management Plan Job Aid
$10.00it covers, and the source of the legal requirements. Include a general discrimination policy statement for
CapraTek. Introduction Title VII permits religious organizations to discriminate on the basis of religion. However, non-religious
employers are prohibited from discriminating on the basis of religion if there is no bona fide
occupational qualification and no legitimate business necessity for it. If an employer does not engage in intentional religious discrimination, should the employer still be
concerned about religious discrimination? An employer must be proactive in evaluating and
implementing workplace policies, so that they do not have unintended negative impacts on an
employee’s ability to exercise his or her religious beliefs. This level of proactivity also includes making
accommodations for employees who need them. Religious accommodations must be reasonable and
not cause undue hardship on the employer, however. The EEOC considers the following factors when
determining whether or not an accommodation constitutes an undue hardship on an employer:
• The burden the accommodation places on the employer.
• The cost of the accommodation.
• Whether there is a degree of flexibility available—meaning whether the employer can
reasonably create a flexible work schedule.
• Whether it is possible for the employer to change the employee’s work assignment.
• Whether a lateral transfer of the employee is possible.
• Whether the accommodation would result in a violation of the workplace seniority system.
• Whether other employees agree to participate in accommodating the employee with the
religious request. Reference Bennett-Alexander, D. D., & Hartman, L. P. (2019). Employment law for business (9th ed.). New York, NY:
McGraw-Hill Irwin. Introduction Discrimination in the workplace can take many different forms. Some are obvious (for example, sex,
race, or national origin). Other forms of discrimination are less obvious (for example, age, pregnancy,
language, sexual preference, or disability). As an HRM professional, you are responsible for structuring
and communicating an organization’s discrimination policies and procedures—the proactive strategies
that are aimed to protect the company and its employees—as well as the reactive procedures to follow
in response to violations. Your boss has tasked you with developing a general discrimination policy for
CapraTek, as part of a Management Plan Job Aid that addresses one form of discrimination.Instructions For this assessment, create a CapraTek HR Management Plan Job Aid that promotes best practices for
preventing one form of discrimination in the workplace, (i.e. race, gender, disability, religion, age, or any
other discrimination covered by Federal or state laws). Structure your job aid as follows:
• Describe the one form of discrimination that your plan will address; include the sources of the
legal requirements that prevent this form of discrimination.
o Be sure to specifically identify whom this covers—i.e. the Equal Pay Act protects
females.
• Develop a general discrimination policy statement for CapraTek for a specific category.
o Explain the rationale.
• Propose how the discrimination policies will be communicated, including relevant legal notices
(i.e. employee handbook, meetings, etc.).
• Recommend the training that would be needed to support the existing CapraTek Employee
Handbook Section on Discrimination and Harassment.
• Recommend the reporting and investigation procedures that protect both the company and the
employees.
• Support your main points with credible evidence.

Workforce Assessment
$10.00three recommendations that will contribute to a legally compliant workplace. Introduction Among the myriad of job responsibilities, Human Resource Specialists are responsible for recruiting,
screening, and interviewing applicants. Ensuring a legally compliant workplace requires a deep
understanding of applicable laws and how they impact the policies and procedures of the organization. When employees engage in improper workplace conduct, their employers are subject to liability. Not
only can employers be held liable for employee torts, but they can also be held liable for other legal
violations, such as discrimination. HR professionals need to be aware of these liabilities and help to
educate employees about appropriate workplace conduct. Although HR can deal with many legal issues,
one of the most often viewed is the recruiting, hiring and promotion areas. While the idea of unequal
treatment of employees is well established and generally easily understood, the issue of Adverse Impact
is often more difficult to understand. If all employees are given the same test, but one group is
consistently hired at a lower rate than the majority group, this is called Adverse Impact. For example,
males and females take a physical test, and 90% of males pass the test while only 20% of females pass
the test. At this the point, the company must prove this test actually measures essential job functions
(meaning the job cannot be done without the skill measured by this test). The courts have established
the 4/5ths rule for this—so in this example we would used 4/5ths of 90% (72%) to establish Adverse
Impact. (A similar analysis can also be done when looking at internal promotions and most any other
“positive reward” structure). This assessment will allow you to explore this issue in some depth.
Tort: A private or civil wrong or injury, including action for bad faith breach of contract, for which the
court will provide a remedy in the form of an action for damages.
—Black’s Law Dictionary Bennett-Alexander, D. D., & Hartman, L. P. (2019). Employment law for business (9th ed.). New York, NY:
McGraw-Hill Irwin. Garner, B. A. (Ed.) (2019). Black’s Law Dictionary (11th ed.). St. Paul, MN: Thomson Reuters. Some assessments in this course are based on the CapraTek Workplace Discrimination simulation (see
the second resource activity in Assessment 3 for more information). The assessments build on each
other and must be completed in sequence. This assessment is an authentic task you could be given as a Human Resource Specialist. Assume the role
of an HR specialist at CapraTek. Your manager has tasked you with revamping hiring and promotional
practices. Introduction CapraTek combines almost 30 years of engineering experience with production that is continually
achieving new efficiencies. The company is committed to living its values through initiatives that focus
on development of human capital, commitment to being a good corporate neighbor, and support ofgreen technology initiatives. Founded in 1984, CapraTek has been profitable every year since its
inception. CapraTek has production facilities and research centers in Silicon Valley, South Carolina, New Mexico,
Illinois, and also serves as managing partner of a consortium with operations in India, Singapore, Taiwan,
South Africa, and the Czech Republic. As the organization has grown, however, the management
development has not always reflected best practices for promotions and hiring. The newly enhanced HR Department has been revamped and expanded to deal with these management
issues. While CapraTek has a strong anti-discrimination policy that appears to be effective, HR has
identified a need to look at the question, “is this policy actually working?” While this question could be
addressed in a number of ways, the first analysis will be to look at concentration statistics. CapraTek has
a policy of promoting from within that encourages employees to develop their skills internally and move
up the organization. Concentration statistics address the question, “is this policy working?” If this policy
is working as intended, the percentage of employees at each organization level would be the same (30
percent females in plant management, supervisor positions and production workers). While there is no
hard-and-fast rule to follow, the analysis will look at major differences.
CapraTek is an equal opportunity employer and hires without regard to sex, race, religion, color,
national origin, ethnicity, military veteran status, gender identity or sexual preference. In addition,
CapraTek believes in developing employees internally and moving them into new positions as they
become available. Instructions Begin your analysis by looking at the manufacturing facility with the following demographics. Use
the Demographics Table to view the information. Write a 2–3 page Executive Summary for your manager. You may wish to review general information on How to Write an Effective Executive Summary before
beginning the assessment. Address the following issues:
• Based on an analysis of the semi-skilled operatives, does CapraTek appear to be followings its
mission statement? Explain your rationale.
• Based on an analysis of supervisory jobs, does CapraTek appear to be true to its goal of
developing employees? Explain your rationale.
• Based on your analysis above, what legal action might CapraTek potentially face? Specifically,
what laws might they be in danger of violating? Explain how the company would be violating
this law.
• What three specific actions would you recommend management consider to deal with any
potential issues? Justify your recommendations and discuss which of these would be a top
priority to address. Additional Requirements -
Initial Survey Design
$5.00Assessment 1 Instructions: Initial Survey Design
Develop an initial survey based on a topic of interest in your personal or professional life.
Introduction
A wide range of professions use and analyze survey results. You will evaluate a survey related to your own topic of interest in later assessments; in the process, you will learn to apply different statistical methods and to critically evaluate statistical results.
Note: Complete this assessment and wait for faculty feedback before beginning Assessment 2.
Demonstration of Proficiency
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the course competencies through the following assessment scoring guide criteria.
- Competency 2: Evaluate the adequacy of data collection methods.
- Identify potential variables to include in data gathering related to a survey topic.
- Explain why a specific population is appropriate for a study.
- Competency 4: Solve problems in your personal and professional life by applying statistical procedures.
- Define a study topic in relation to its importance in one’s personal or professional life.
Note: Complete this assessment and wait for faculty feedback before beginning
Assessment 2.
Use the Initial Survey Design Template [DOC] to complete the assessment. This assessment is the first step in the process of designing a survey that you will evaluate in this course.
Before rushing out to collect data, it is important to clearly define what you are trying to accomplish and what you are trying to answer. This assessment provides an opportunity for you to demonstrate your ability to define your goals and begin to formulate a data collection strategy to meet those goals.
Identify a topic of interest in your personal or professional life. Explain your reasons for selecting the topic and your thoughts about the study design.
In addition, state the variables you will be considering in this study. The variables should correspond to the type of information you wish to obtain in the survey. Finally, think about the population of interest for this survey. The population is the general group of individuals to which the survey is aimed.
As you fill out the template, keep in mind that surveys are usually done to answer some sort of question. This topic could be something based on your professional activities or your personal interests. In other words, you get to make the subject of the statistical study something to which you can relate.
Make sure you address each of the five questions in detail in the template:
- Describe the topic of your survey.
- Explain why the topic is important. (How might the results of the study be used in your personal or professional life?)
- Identify and describe the potential variables to be included in the data-gathering.
- Define the population to be studied.
- Explain why this is the best population for your study.
Initial Survey Design Template
Your Name

Instructions: Record your responses on the template below each question and upload this document as your assessment submission. Do not change any of the items on the template except to add or delete space.
- What is the topic of your survey?
- Why is the topic important? How might the results of the study be used in your personal or professional life?
- What are the potential variables to be included in data gathering? You must include at least three variables that might be a part of your study. Write a minimum of one paragraph describing your potential variables.
- Define the population to be studied. Write 1–3 sentences describing your target population. Include specific characteristics including age range, gender, location, and any other identifiers that are unique and relevant to your population.
- Explain why this is the best population for your study. Write at least one paragraph analyzing why you have chosen this population for your study.
- Competency 2: Evaluate the adequacy of data collection methods.
-
Assessment 3: Literature Review
$25.00Assessment 3 Instructions: Literature Review
Write a literature review that will help support a proposed research study, applying scholarly research findings and theories to your selected topic in biological psychology.
As you select articles for and work on your Literature Review assessment, you’ll explore vision and how we see. You will start by examining the eye structure that processes visual information. You’ll also explore learning and memory. These are two of the most exciting topics in biopsychological research. The central hypothesis is focused on how and where memories are stored in the brain.
Overview
Using the backbone of what you’ve done in both the Analysis of Articles and Theories and Ethics assessments, utilize what you discovered through the analysis of the literature’s research and theory into a coherent and well-written literature review. Utilize resources you’ve already found to support your work and anything else you want to add. Ultimately, this literature review will support your final piece by making a case for a research proposal.
Preparation
You will be using these resources to help support a proposed research study of your choosing. Note that the assessments in this course build on one another. It is a good idea to look ahead to the Study Applications assessment to begin to think about a topic you might be interested in researching. This is a good time to select articles for this assessment that will help support your ideas for that assessment as well.
Instructions
For your Literature Review assessment, use the Capella library and course readings to locate a minimum of ten peer-reviewed journal articles (published within the last 10 years) that discuss a biological psychology topic of interest to you (the same topic you’re using for your other assessments). For example, you might be interested in:
- Neurobiology of ecstasy (MDMA) abuse.
- Progression of reading ability in a child diagnosed with autism.
- Effectiveness of a new drug to treat depression.
You are not limited to these topics, but may choose one of these if you are interested. They are listed to help give you an idea of types of appropriate topics.
Submit your literature review on the topic you selected for this assessment in accordance with the criteria listed below:
Format your paper using the following headings, as well as the APA Paper Template [DOCX]:
Topic:

Assessment 1: Analysis of Articles
$15.00Assessment 1 Instructions: Analysis of Articles
Use the Capella library and course readings to locate a minimum of five peer-reviewed journal articles on a topic of your choice, then analyze the research component of the articles.
Biopsychology is the study of how the human brain and body work; specifically, how do the cells in our brain lead to our thoughts and actions? As you work on your assessment, an analysis of five articles, and think about a topic you want to choose for all your assessments, you’ll be introduced to the origins of biopsychology and genetic influence on behavior, while exploring why biopsychology creates ethical concerns. You’ll also explore the basic biology of the brain and the associated neurological systems.
Overview
To successfully complete a research project in the field, you’ll need to understand the research of the field, and to analyze and synthesize it. In this assessment you’ll take the first step by analyzing the research component of articles for a topic of your choice.

You will also be using these resources as part of your Literature Review assessment and to help support a proposed research study of your choosing for your Study Applications assessment. Note that the assessments in this course build on one another. It is a good idea to look ahead to the other assessments, and begin to think about a topic you might be interested in researching. This is a good time to select articles for this assessment that will help support your ideas for the other assessments. Keep the same topic for your Theories and Ethics assessment, but choose different articles—this will ensure you start work on your Literature Review assessment with enough articles.
