Apply Modern Theories of Leadership to Resolve Workplace Challenges
$12.00For this assignment, you will be presented with three workplace challenges. For each challenge, you will: - Apply one of the leadership theories to resolve each challenge (apply only one theory per challenge – transformational leadership, charismatic leadership, or leader-member exchange).
- Describe the key principles of the theory you chose to apply.
- Discuss how the approach could be applied to resolve the leadership challenges.
Scenario 1: The prominent leader of an organization was recently terminated due to charges of fraud and embezzlement. A new leader must take over in this crisis situation. What leadership theory could be applied to help this individual lead effectively in this situation? Be sure to share specific strategies based on your chosen theory.
Scenario 2: A young manager has been using rewards to motivate subordinates to complete their work in a timely manner; however, this has caused a culture of competition and ill-will amongst employees. The manager wishes to become a leader and create a more collaborative culture in her workplace. What leadership theory could be applied to help this manager develop the qualities of a leader? Be sure to share specific strategies based on your chosen theory.
Scenario 3: A work team is performing poorly. It was recently discovered that the team leader has low-quality relationships with many of his subordinates. What leadership theory could be applied to help this individual enhance his team’s dynamics and performance? Be sure to share specific strategies based on your chosen theory.

Explore the use of Qualitative Research
$25.00Week 8 – Assignment: Explore the use of Qualitative Research
Your task this week is to select a topic area and suggest how you could address a research question in that topic area using two of the five qualitative methods you have read about this week (e.g., grounded theory, a phenomenological approach, an ethnographic approach, a case study, or a narrative approach). Your selected topic can be as broad as you like, such as bullying in schools or the workplace, or understanding the experiences of individuals recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. The topic area you choose will not influence your grade, just your explanations for how you might address a research question in this area of interest.
After selecting your two qualitative methods, prepare an audio PowerPoint presentation for your colleagues to include the following for each method:
- Provide your research question and proposed method.
- Explain how you would recruit your sample.
- Detail the questions you would ask your participants.
- Explain the issues that may affect the quality of your data collection.
- Explain the approach to your analysis.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists and should cite material appropriately. Add audio to each slide using the Media section of the Insert tab in the top menu bar for each slide.
Support your presentation with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Length: 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide)
Notes Length: 200-350 words for each slideBe sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate. Save the file as PPT with the correct course code information.

Examine the Concepts of Variables and Sampling
$10.00This week’s task will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of the concepts you have read about this week. Provided below are two hypothetical issues that require your review. After your review, design a mock study to address each issue. Issue 1: Is praying effective? People tend to pray for people for several reasons, and one of them is that they hope that their prayers will influence various outcomes. For example, athletes often pray before games they play. Using the example of athletes praying before a game, design a study to test the effectiveness of praying.
Issue 2: Do people have extra-sensory perception (ESP)? The concept of ESP is that some people can detect information they should not know. For example, some people say they can see a picture in another room and describe the details without having to be in that room. Design a study that tests whether someone has ESP.
Note: Although these examples may appear unusual, there are many studies (mostly experiments) that have examined both issues in considerable detail. Feel free to access some of these studies to help you create your study.
You do NOT need to write about the topics of praying or ESP extensively.
Instead focus your work on the following:
In both study designs, you MUST include information relating to:
- Identify the independent variables. What are they and how you would measure them?
- Identify the dependent variables. What are they and how you would measure them?
- Explain the procedure for each study.
- Describe your sampling technique for each study.
Support your assignment with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages

Week 4 – Assignment: Assess Ethical Considerations when Conducting Research
$15.00Select any peer-reviewed study (i.e., it can be a qualitative or quantitative study). Outline the purpose of the study and how the study was implemented (describe the procedure). Be sure to select a study that includes the recruitment of human subjects; do not select a a study where the researchers completed a meta-analysis, systematic review, or a simple literature review. Comment specifically on the following ethical issues in your critique of the study: - Determine if the participants were vulnerable in any way and explain why or why not.
- If you had to conduct this study at NCU, identify who would be required to grant permissions to conduct the study (e.g., sites, IRBs).
- Explain whether participants were coerced in any way to take part in the study. Explain your answer even if the answer is no.
- Comment on how issues of anonymity were dealt with in the study.
- Comment on how issues of confidentiality were dealt with in the study.
- What restrictions did ethical issues play in the design of this study? For example, was the number and type of participant affected by ethical concerns?
Support your assignment with your selected resource. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
Length: 4-6 pages, not including title and reference pages

Critique a Study using Concepts of Reliability, Internal, and External Validity
$7.50Select any study from the NCU dissertation database that used inferential statistics such as t-test, correlation, regression, ANOVA, or chi-square to test a hypothesis. Then, outline outline the purpose of the study and how the study was implemented by describing the procedure. For NCU dissertations, Chapter 3 contains the information about how the study was completed.
Using your knowledge of reliability, internal, and external validity, comment on the quality of the study. Specifically, focus on the following in your brief assessment:
- If tests of reliability and validity were used, explain how well they were implemented. If no tests were used, indicate if they should have been and why.
- Comment on the sampling and recruitment techniques. Determine if there were possibilities for biased samples.
- If questionnaires/instruments were used, explain whether they were effective. Identify and interpret any evidence that the instruments had been through any process of validity and reliability testing, if applicable.
- Illustrate the extent to which the findings from the study are generalizable/externally valid.
- Comment on the overall logic of the research design. Interpret whether the study was internally valid.
Support your assignment as needed with scholarly resources. Appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included but are not required.

Differences Between Constructivist and Post-Positivist Approaches to Research
$10.00Week 1 – Assignment: Examine the Differences Between Constructivist and Post-Positivist Approaches to Research
Top of Form
Hide Folder Information Instructions After reviewing this week’s resources, explain, in your own words, the differences between constructivist and post-positivist approaches to research. In particular, include the following in your written analysis: - Identify and document constructivist’s views.
- Identify and document post-positivist’s views.
- Provide an example of a study (other than that given by Mertens) that uses a constructivist approach. (You can use examples from a study you have come across in previous courses)
- Provide an example (other than that given by Mertens) that uses a post-positivist approach. (You can use an example of a study you have come across in previous courses)
- Reflect on these two approaches. Do you think the approaches are antagonistic (i.e., you can only believe in doing research one way and not the other) or are the approaches just different ways of answering different research questions? There is no right or wrong answer for this.
References: Use as many references as you need to support your assignment.
