Virtually all health professionals need to be able to deal with occupational health challenges that they face.

Consider the following scenario:

Suppose that you are a supervising health manager of a warehouse.  One of the workers in the warehouse who commonly lifts heavy boxes complains to you about chronic pain in his low back. Although he routinely performs tasks involving heavy physical labor, you are unsure about his level of physical activity at home and outside of work. You would like to be certain that the injury is work-related, because he may have fallen at home.  Or, the back pain could be rooted in some other cause.

ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS (1 page each):

1.What are some of the factors that you would take into consideration in making your determination that the musculoskeletal disorder is work-related?

2.In your discussion, include why it is difficult to distinguish between a work related MSD and non-work related MSD.

Present a scholarly basis for your response.
